Impressive. Been a long time since I saw that. I seem to remember a rubble pile below the sculpture; either it's been hauled away or it's now obscured by trees.

I climbed the mountain a couple of times as a kid -- on the other side, where the slope is easy. Is that a cable car I see up there? That's for sissies :P

When I was in high school, a friend and I tried to operate our own soft-drink stand partway up the mountain. We got rained out. A lightning bolt struck a tree maybe 50 feet away. We never tried that again...

You might recognize a memory of Stone Mountain in one or two of my pastels.

LOL Well, I guess a lot of people do that nowadays, or it wouldn't be there. Must be an exciting ride, seeing the mountain and environs from way up high... Do they let you take pictures from the car?

When I get around to installing Google Earth again, I'm gonna check out Stone Mountain again, this time with terrain turned on; maybe by now they've got in 3D :D
